Yesterday I decided to put my to-do list aside and instead spend a little time exploring DC on an unexpectedly sunny day. So I threw on my favorite fashion combo, navy and black, and headed to Georgetown! After a successful drop off at the local Buffalo Exchange, I roamed the old town streets admiring the homes, window shopping, and indulging in an iced coffee and one giant chocolate chip cookie with sea salt. (Yum!) And yes, I did this all in my new Gap wedges…I told you these bad boys were comfortable!

I moved to DC to be with my boyfriend a few months back, and despite the not so great weather and the endless hours of job searching, I can still say without a shadow of a doubt that this is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. For the first time since leaving New York City, I finally feel I’ve found a place to call home. I’m loving all the aspects of exploring a new city again from searching for the perfect cup of coffee to decorating our (quite large) built in bookshelf wall. While things are far from perfect, I’m enjoying most those lazy Sundays at home marking pages in my latest cookbook and watching old documentaries on Netflix with my boyfriend all while continuing to work on my little blog. Life is good.

Poor Little It Girl in Madewell Dress, Madewell Sunglasses and Gap Wedges

If you were to ask me on any given day what my favorite color is, I wouldn’t hesitate in saying it was green. However, it turns out I have very little green in my closet and instead, have managed to make blue 75% of my wardrobe with the addition of this new dress. The fit is perfection, the pockets are magical, and it’s easy to wash which makes a girl who hates to do laundry very happy. I topped off this date night look with matching sunnies and probably the best/most comfortable wedges I have ever owned. So sure green is still my favorite color, but blue is now coming in a very close second.
