I Do Remember The Swing In Your Step, The Life Of The Party, You’re Showing Off Again…

Poor Little It Girl - Old Navy Pintuck Floral Swing Dress

You know what one of the hardest parts about composing a blog post each day? Figuring out what to say here! Sometimes I have a funny story to tell, or just an update on my life, but right now…not so much. Currently, it’s Friday night and Adam just left to go out of town for the weekend and I’m debating if it’s too early for a glass of wine. (It’s past 5pm…so bottoms up!) It’s like, I know that these paragraphs in my outfit posts are an opportunity to share more about me, but sometimes I feel like I just don’t have much to say! Any other bloggers out there struggle with this? I guess after six years of writing Poor Little It Girl I’m bound to face writers block once in a while But damn, the struggle is so real right now.

Well, that vent just took up a lot of space, so that’s good I guess. Oh lordy, maybe I do need that wine. Haha! Maybe I should do this more often, just write about what I’m thinking the exact moment I’m working on a blog post rather then trying to articulate a thoughtful story. Nevermind, I’m just blabbering. In other news, y’all  probably saw this swing dress on my Snapchat a few weeks ago and it’s amazing. Old Navy is killing it this season (as I mentioned) and I wanted to get this look up before it sold out. I’m wearing the petite version!

Here’s a funny story for you, Cathy! I dropped by Poor Little It Girl to see what’s happening on Monday morning, and what do I see but the very same dress that’s laid out on my bed, waiting to be put on! Synchronicity or great minds?

Pretty patterned floral dress for fall…. I love it! I don’t write a blog, but you could talk about your family or Adam or you could do a blog post about places of interest around Atlanta. And you can always invite us into your home again for a peek.

I like to keep my family and Adam private, personally. They didn’t sign up for the “blog life” and with Adam’s work he doesn’t need to be “recognized” or anything so while I totally understand that people want more about him, gotta keep him a little more private is all. But a new home tour is certainly underway so stay tuned for that! xoxo Cathy

Totally agree with you! Sometimes I try to write a great story that’s funny and then talk about my outfit….but it’s HARD. Sometimes I can’t come up with words that are interesting enough, and then I just start ranting. At least we know we’re not alone in this!

PS: I need this dress! Love that you paired it with a bow in your hair, so cute!

I struggle with writer’s block all the time actually! And those times I just keep it short and sweet or I share something silly like what I’m currently binge watching. A simple update on what you’re doing Friday night makes you seem real – I can totally relate to a glass of wine at week’s end! Haha!

Not knowing what to say in my blog posts happens all the time (probably more often than it should!) LOL. I always want to think of some clever story to tell, but sometimes it just doesn’t happen – so glad you were open and honest :) Also, that dress is seriously too cute and it looks super comfy!

I’m with Dana- LOVE the little bow! And yea I’m more self conscious than ever about writer’s block because my boyfriend recently told me, “I can tell when you’re bs-ing” whooops but I guess we all have our moments

I’ve always had my eyes on this dress at Old Navy! I think the print and style is flattering to any body type (I am pear-shaped, by the way). :D

Haha. Some days I read your blog and look at your adorable dresses and wish I was just a little big shorter. I tried that dress on yesterday. It didn’t hit my legs. But its adorable on you!
