I mentioned a couple weeks ago that Adam and I took a mini vacation down to Fort Lauderdale. It was a great way to get away from DC life and just enjoy and relax beach side for a couple days. We flew down with zero agenda, just wanting to see where the days took us. Thankfully, the boutique luxe Pillars Hotel was our host for this trip and we couldn’t have been happier with our stay. With less than 20 rooms for the entire hotel, it felt like we were transported to another country with their private pool/garden courtyard and stunning waterfront views. While we were only there for 48 hours, this vacation to Florida was exactly what needed to unwind, relax and enjoy each other before heading back to city life in DC.
A Room With A View
With less than 20 rooms at the entire hotel, our stay felt very intimate and relaxing. This was the view right outside our corner room suite at The Pillars Hotel…talk about gorgeous!
Our hotel was right off A1A, tucked away on a back street that, if you weren’t looking for it, you might have missed the sign hiding in the tall palm trees.
Breakfast By The Pool
All of the rooms face into the pool/garden courtyard, with each one having a small table and chairs set up outside to enjoy the nice weather. This is where we enjoyed breakfast…me in my hotel robe, of course.
75 and Sunny
It was too terribly hot while we were down in Florida, we’re talking 75-80 degrees which was perfect, so this was my view as I enjoyed a little nap by the pool…simply stunning!
All In The Details
While we were at a “beach hotel” it sure didn’t feel like it. The room had a minimalist vibe and sleek decorations that made us feel right at home.
I grew up in Florida, but haven’t lived there for 10+ years, so I almost forgot what I felt like to wear a swimsuit in February! I couldn’t break out this one I picked up at Anthropologie for our trip!
A Boutique-Style Stay
This was the view from the main lobby of the hotel, our room was on the very end. I told you this place was intimate and luxe! To the right is where the pool and waterfront views were…it was seriously so beautiful!
Warm Weather Ready
I think the thing I was most excited about on our trip was having an excuse to break out my favorite straw hat again! When you live in a city with cold winters, there’s nothing better then finally being in the sunshine and wearing a beach hat!
A Night On The Town
We were only in Fort Lauderdale for one night, so we both dressed up and headed out to a great dinner right down the road from the hotel and then went for drinks at a rooftop bar. This white silk dress was the perfect piece to wear for the warm nighttime weather!
