Lines, Vines, and Trying Times..

I know I was raving about florals being my favorite print for summer, but I started to feel guilty about leaving out my other love, STRIPES! While stripes can come vertical and diagonal, I prefer the nautical/jailhouse horizontal stripe look on a summery tee or tank. Don’t listen to those “fashion” folk when they say horizontal stripes make girls look “big”… even a white tee can make a girl look fat if it doesn’t fit properly. That’s why it’s always so important to try clothing on and to wear pieces where the silhouette flatters your figure. These lines (thin or thick) provide a subtle visual interest to any outfit and are my favorite print to mix with other prints (i.e. striped tops pair well with a floral or polka-dot skirt in the summer!)

I’m so obsessed with nautical stripes for the summer! I agree with you – I don’t find horizontal stripes to be particularly unflattering… I think they can look good on just about anyone! I absolutely adore that last tee that you posted.
