Finally, my crazy month of travel for February is done! I was in Denver, Rhode Island, Charleston and Fort Lauderdale…but the one place that always tops my list is New York City. Myself and Jessica went up to The Big Apple earlier in month for, you guessed it, New York Fashion Week, and I wanted to share some behind the scenes pics of my weekend in the city I used to call home. (For those that don’t know, I lived in NYC when I was 21-25 working in fashion magazines!) For my few short days in the city (I wasn’t able to be up there the whole week) I attended shows like Vivienne Tam, Noon by Noor and Lela Rose, to name a few, and was lucky enough to be hosted by the impeccable Langham Hotel. With my trip, I received so much feedback via Twitter and Instagram from fellow bloggers asking how to navigate and get into shows next season, so I’m working on a fun post to include my How To Be A Better Blogger series on how to do so. So if you have any questions, leave me a comment so I can be sure to answer it in my new post!
A FEW KEY PIECES I PACKED FOR NYFW:
TRESemme Hair Salon
Each season TRESemme hosts an amazing pop up salon where they invite bloggers and other digital influencer to indulge in a little pampering. With a charging station, refreshments and loads of excitement, you can get your hair done by industry experts! I went for this pulled back look with a twist!
A Trip to SoHo
No trip to NYC is complete without a stop in SoHo for a little shopping and food. Myself and Jessica finally tried out Balthazar and it was delicious!
The day this photo was taken, it was -6 degrees outside with the windchill. I have more layers on then I even knew I could ever possibly wear. Right after this picture, I headed back to Langham Hotel, it was just too cold to go to any more shows that day!
H&M Showroom Visit
In addition to attending shows, one of the best parts of NYFW is heading to showrooms. Here, you get to visit with the brands you’ve been emailing with over the past years to cultivate in-person relationships and view sneak peeks of the upcoming collections! Here was a quick pick from the H&M offices!
The Big Bathtub
Staying at Langham Place was as dream! The hotel was top notch and our suite was the perfect home away from home. This big bathtub was GIGANTIC! Seriously, I’m talking like 5 bloggers could have fit in here easily…it was heaven! (And no, I did not get 5 bloggers in a bathtub.)
Rain and Snow
Rain and snow was the name of the game in NYC. Thank goodness I had this gorgeous floral umbrella from Langham Hotel to spruce up my head to toe black look!
Breakfast in Bed
One of the best parts of any trip has to be room service. I mean, who doesn’t love breakfast in bed?
Our suite at Langham Hotel was warm and inviting, but totally chic. The room included two bathrooms, that giant tub I mentioned before, a luxe king bed and oh yeah…a washer and dryer! Going home with clean clothes was pure heaven!
A candid shot of me as we headed out to a few meetings in the city. Seriously, it was so cold, and my feet were hurting like crazy. I didn’t wear any of the heels I packed and opted for sneakers and denim the whole time.
