It’s been a long time since I’ve been to Fashion Week in September (we’re talking six years!). Honestly, I don’t know what took me so long to get back. The weather is perfect this time of year and there’s so many fun things going on – it’s an exhilarating time to be in the city. While February NYFW was cold, September brought temperatures over 80 degrees and minimal rain. This season, I stayed for almost the full week and was excited to once again be hosted by the amazing Langham Place Hotel. So if you’re looking to attend New York Fashion Week in the future, or just want some insight to my week, here are some highlights from this season.
As I mentioned, I was happy to have Langham Place Hotel invite me back to stay with them for another Fashion Week. Located in the heart of midtown on 37th and 5th, this hotel surpasses any other. They greeted us with champagne, macaroons, and dozens of their signature floral pink pens. (We checked, turns out they encourage guests to steal the pretty pens!) Each morning we enjoyed complimentary room service breakfast and one night we even dined at Ai Fiori, their Italian-French restaurant. I wish I took more photos of our room, but the entire thing was bigger than my apartment in Atlanta. Massive comfortable beds and a huge bathroom with a shower that could fit 10 people easily. (No we didn’t test that out…just a guess.)
This season, I was excited to have Kristin and Jessica officially join me for the full NYFW experience. With all the meetings we scheduled plus shows/presentations we attended – trips like this are more fun with friends. One of the events we went to was a brunch with Grabr that Kristin was hosting. She’s currently partnering with them for NY, London and Milan Fashion Week curating collections. If you haven’t heard of Grabr, I suggest checking out their site to get more information on this amazing start-up!
Of course, New York Fashion Week was all about the shows! A few of my favorites I was invited to attend included Monique Lhuillier, Banana Republic, Noon by Noor, Rebecca Minkoff, and Jenny Packham. I didn’t get many pictures from the shows/presentations because I didn’t have my camera on me. Plus I’m not a famous blogger who gets front row seats to everything (nor am I blogger that lies that I did get front row when I really got standing and snuck to the front row, but I digress) so I didn’t want to post crappy iPhone photos. Anyways, here was some pictures I took at my two favorites: Ulla Johnson and Leanne Marshall.
Other highlights from my trip included stopping by the ShopStyle Social House. Great brands like Baublebar, Gigi New York, Yumi Kim and more had tables set up for influencers to stop by and say hello and snag some swag and sip rose throughout the day! And shout out to the lovely team at Alice & Trixie who held a fun showroom open house and had an awesome team that did my hair and makeup for the day! Look at that volume!
I think Jessica and Kristin have more fun photos from the week, so once I get my hands on them (they’re currently both abroad while I’m writing this post) I’ll update with a few more snaps. And don’t forget, if you’re a blogger interested in attending New York Fashion Week next season after seeing all the fun, make sure you read my How To post on getting into shows! Till next season!
