Rescue Is The New Black – Rescue The Runway Event In New York City

Sure I love Chipotle, Dawson’s Creek reruns and a great sad song by Taylor Swift…but there is one thing I love more than ALL of those amazing things combined. Yep, that would be puppies, rescue puppies to be more specific. So when my former boss, mentor, and all around amazing friend was spreading the word about her involvement with Rescue the Runway, I just knew I had to share the love via Poor Little It Girl.

Mr. Bones & Co. is an animal welfare non-profit dedicated to assisting animal rescue groups with fundraising and financial support through special events and their signature benefit, Rescue the Runway, debuts tomorrow, May 15th, in NYC. This event, which includes some dapper dogs strutting their stuff down the runway and an amazing roster of silent auction items, is donating 100% of their profits to three extremely worthy animal welfare/rescue groups serving the greater New York City/NJ area. Ok, so now that we’re in mid-March I can officially say it’s spring, right? In any case, I want sunshine, rainbows and, of course, flowers! Floral prints aren’t really a trend, they’re a fashion staple that we all own and love. While my floral collection is always budding (pun intended) I can always justify adding few more pieces. With things finally starting to bloom in DC, here are a some items that are really getting me excited to be in my most favorite season ever!

Poor Little It Girl in Warehouse, GAP coat and J.Crew Shoes

There really is nothing better than finding a great dress. One that fits you right off the rack and makes you feel extra girly and fun. That’s how I felt about this beauty from Warehouse. I love the fitted waist and flared skirt, and the gold metallic color is so fun but still can be considered conservative. It’s a great addition to my LBD collection. To add a pop of color, I decided to pair it with my all time favorite red coat from Gap. Now I just need to find a party to go to so I can wear this little number!
