If you follow me on Twitter then you know I was having a bit of blogger writers block this past weekend. I couldn’t figure out what to do my Monday post on and became increasingly annoyed. Sure I could do something on Coachella like everyone else but hell, I’m not even there and have no music festivals on my schedule so that’d just make me feel like a loser. However, this past weekend my boyfriend took some sailing lesson with his friends, so my hope is to embrace my inner boat-babe and give my favorite nautical styles a spin. Here’s to spending a few days in the next couple months out on the water…a girl can dream!

As a magazine lover, I love flipping through page after page looking for personal style and blog inspiration. This post was totally inspired by a recent round-up I found in the April issue of Lucky - page 34 to be more specific. I love the idea of taking one basic piece and pairing it with all sorts of tops and heels that you can mix and match to create appropriate but stylish outfits for work. (I still haven’t found a job yet in DC so I’m actually jealous of all you that have to stress about what to wear to the office every day!) Of course, most of Lucky’s products were a little too pricey for me, so I had to put the Poor Little It Girl spin on it and make all the options under $100. Take any top and any shoe and create tons of looks…have fun!

Ok, so now that we’re in mid-March I can officially say it’s spring, right? In any case, I want sunshine, rainbows and, of course, flowers! Floral prints aren’t really a trend, they’re a fashion staple that we all own and love. While my floral collection is always budding (pun intended) I can always justify adding few more pieces. With things finally starting to bloom in DC, here are a some items that are really getting me excited to be in my most favorite season ever!
