I’ve never really been a shorts girl. I figure if I’m going to show my legs, I might as well wear a little sundress or a cute romper. But never one to turn down a great stripe, these shorts from BCBGeneration just couldn’t stay cooped up in my closet for too long. I love that they have a bit of a boyfriend-type feel and when paired with easy layers and a fedora, this outfit is perfect for any sunny weekend around town or a day on the boardwalk.

The weather in DC has been pretty miserable these last few days. So much so that I took these pictures in the cold rain (hence the bad hair) under a small awning avoiding the drops. While crappy weather usually brings my mood down pretty quickly, how can I be sad when printed pants are around! These Old Navy beauties are the prettiest shade of minty green and pair perfectly with my new necklaces and flats.

I was recently asked what the basics are for a successful and versatile spring wardrobe, so I headed straight to my own closet to compile my list!
