My jobs don’t really leave me with a normal schedule like most 9 to 5’ers. Basically, I work all the time even if it’s a holiday. So I am making a point to spend this long weekend, especially today, ignoring my laptop and packing up to move out of my apartment as well as for my upcoming trip to D.C. in a few days. Needless to say, I own a lot of junk and plan on doing a very large drop off to my local Goodwill and at the end followed by a celebratory glass bottle of red wine. Hope everyone has a great MLK day!

PLIG's Picks

I was just checking your post today and noticed that in your PILG wish list you have the Topshop Eyelash Lace Yoke Shell. I just wanted to let you know that I just received it yesterday and I am broken hearted! I was so in love with the picture of it on the website and so excited to get it. First of all, it is huge! I usually wear a US size 4, which I ordered, and it is probably 3 sizes too big. The arm holes are unexplainably large, the ivory fabric is very thin (not in a good way) and cheap feeling. And the overall look is not at all what it appears on the website. I just figured I would let you know and save you the disappointment and the hassle of returning it.
Hi Erica, Thank you so much for your comment about the Topshop top! Usually I have such great success with that brand…but once in a while we all find things that end up not meeting our expectations. I’ll certainly make sure when I update that wish list I take that top off after your note here. Thank you again for letting me know!! xoxo Cathy
Packing is the pits; a bottle of wine will be very much needed!! Sooo does this mean since you’ll be closer to me and maybe we can share a bottle (or 2, 3 – who’s counting?) of red soon?
Oh, absolutely!! I can’t wait!!
Having moved 6 times in 5 years across 3 states, I feel your pain! A tall glass of red wine is always in order for a move :)
You may want to consider swinging by a resale shop with your clothes before a stop to Goodwill — I just did that with one large shopping bag of closet clear outs and in about an hour stopping at two stores I made $46 on half the contents! Worthwhile trip in my book.
Good luck moving! We are moving in July and I cna’t wait to sip some wine and purge!

Good on you for taking some time for yourself! My schedule is much the same as yours and being always ‘on’ can be so draining – one of my resolutions is to have a laptop-free day once a week. Good luck with the packing, DC is such a fabulous place to be moving to!
